The Flowersmith Studio

A little botanical world, composed by hand and captured beneath glass.

Sculptural blue globe thistles rise among delicate pink statice, airy gypsophila and intricate seed heads in this distinctive dried-flower composition. Presented beneath a glass cloche with a decorative glass knob and finished with a beautiful blue velvet ribbon, it brings together the unexpected shapes and textures of the natural world in a miniature botanical landscape.

Unlike a traditional floral arrangement, this piece is composed through the natural movement of each individual stem. The striking, spiky silhouettes of the globe thistles create structure and rhythm, while the softer pink flowers, nigella seed heads and ornamental cress introduce delicate details and contrasting textures. Nestled into a natural moss base, the composition feels like a botanical curiosity — something to pause over and discover.

Every flower begins its journey in our own Cork growing space, where it is grown, harvested and dried by hand in our studio. Working with flowers as my medium, I love exploring their extraordinary variety of colours, shapes and textures, finding new ways to bring these natural forms together. Each piece is composed stem by stem, allowing the individual character of every flower to shape the finished design.

Made slowly and thoughtfully by hand, this is a piece of botanical artistry to display and enjoy throughout the year. The glass cloche frames the intricate arrangement like a treasured specimen, celebrating the quiet beauty of flowers beyond their fleeting season.

A thoughtful gift for someone who loves botanical details, unusual decorative objects and beautifully considered craftsmanship, or a distinctive addition to your own home.
